Pay Equity and fixed hours’ big wins for Kaiāwhina – May 2017

Recent months have seen two big steps forward for the progress of the Workforce Recognition domain of the Kaiāwhina Workforce Action Plan. The implementation of guaranteed hours for community support workers in April and the pay equity settlement for care and support workers to take effect on the 1st July 2017 are strong indicators that kaiāwhina are becoming recognised as a valued workforce.
